Checkups

During your check-ups, we discuss how you are feeling, address any complaints or concerns related to your pregnancy, answer your questions, and provide advice. As your pregnancy progresses, the check-ups become more frequent. If you have any complaints or concerns, you can always come in for an extra check-up. We believe it’s important to reassure you and take our time in doing so!

Here you can find the appointment schedule during pregnancy:

  • 0 to 24 weeks: every 4 weeks (7/8 – 11 – 15 – 19 – 23 weeks).
  • 24 to 30 weeks: every 3 weeks (27 – 30 weeks).
  • 30 to 36 weeks: every 2 weeks (32 – 34 – 36 weeks).
  • 36 to 41 weeks: every week (37 – 38 – 39 – 40 – 41 weeks).

What we do at every checkup

At each check-up, we measure your blood pressure and, if you wish, your weight. The growth of your uterus will be monitored. Later in pregnancy, we will also assess the baby’s growth and position. From 11 weeks onward, the baby’s heartbeat is checked at each appointment.

Overview of checks and investigations

A standard check-up usually lasts about 15 minutes, but more time will be scheduled to discuss important topics, such as labor and delivery.

Here you can see which tests and information you can expect at different stages of pregnancy.
